2018 – 2021 Contract Negotiations
On Wednesday, August 7, 2019, your President, Jim Schoengarth and your Bargaining Chair, Danny Ramirez signed off on our contract with the County of Los Angeles. This ballot is your opportunity to affirm the final product as bargained for by your current Executive Board. The highlights of our bargaining included fighting the efforts of our Chief Probation Officer on take-aways that they insisted they must have taken out of our contract. At the end of the day we have retained our seniority rights, transfer rights, and have only agreed to continue discussion on the 56-hour shifts in a joint labor management discussion that will include Local 685 at the table.
While most of our contract remains unchanged, you will see the following items coming to you:
10.75 % raise over the term of the contract
2% as of March 1, 2019 (retro)
2.5% as of July 1, 2019 (retro)
1% on January 1, 2020
2.5% on July 1, 2020
2.75% on January 1, 2021
You will also receive a $500.00 signing bonus
A $1,000 bonus will be paid to the last (up to 25) SDPOs moved out of CMYCs Camp Onizuka, and or who participated in job fares in 2017 through 2019. This does not include anyone who bid out.
A 2% Educational Bonus (if have a Bachelor’s Degree) for SDSOs and Transportation Supervisors
$3.50 per hour Standby pay with a cap of $750 per month. This is new!
DPO III item is approved but not complete. Their pay and our pay differential remains to be negotiated,
