Legal defense protection is a necessity for law enforcement professionals.  As the frequency and cost of allegations rise, the FOP Legal Defense Plan offers you and your lodge members a very affordable and comprehensive plan.  This program is designed specifically to cover the law enforcement exposures faced by members of the FOP Legal Defense Plan by paying legal defense costs on behalf of participating members for the following actions and proceedings:

Below you will have information via FOP's Legal Defense Fund Powerpoint presentation.  In addition there are application forms.  Potential member forms are based upon your Union membership Status.  SEUI Members are to fill out the form that is titled "SEIU-FOP Form", Non-SEIU Members (GSN, DSO, Sr.DSO, DPO I, DPO II, Director ect) will fill out the form titiled "Non-SEIU members FOP Membership form."  There is also an attachecment that explains the payment process.  SEIU members need to submit $96.25 via payment options noted.  Non-SEIU Members must pay in full for the year $385.00, again see payment options noted.

ALL applicants must be members of thier Union in good standing (no Fee Payers), and may be required to show proof, via check stub deduction or letter from your union.  Should you be a member of a classification that is not represented, you are waived from this requirement, unless of course your classification becomes represented at a later date.
